A New England Family Home….
Tahilla Farm is nested in 35 acres of woodlands with gardens and meadows, both tamed and gently wild. The property rests at the end of the New Hampshire Wapack Range, a 20-mile-long range of mountains in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. On a clear day, we can see North Pack mountain, also known as “little mountain.” It is our North Star, it calls us home.
The old farmhouse (c. 1790) still stands with two red barns welcoming you into the property. We lovingly restored and renovated sections of the house, bringing a warm freshness to everyday living. A question often asked is how the property came to be called Tahilla Farm. Three elderly sisters named it after a place that was close to their hearts, Tahilla (Tathuile) along the Ring of Kerry in County Kerry, Ireland. The name rekindles my own Irish heritage, it was meant to be.
Today, we live as gently wild as the land. We move to the rhythm of nature and creatures large and small. Bears, coyotes, bobcats, deer, fox, turkeys, porcupines, birds of prey and a host of New England songbirds greet us during the year. Add to this, our enthusiastic English Springer Spaniel, Tani, who happily claims the land as his own. Recently retired from a 30-year life overseas, my husband, Mr. H, and I, enjoy living in a place where grass grows gently underfoot. We are happy to be caretakers of this beaucolic property, returning it to the spirit of its founders.
We enjoy sharing Tahilla Farm with family and friends via Tahilla Gatherings where I curate small, private workshops and retreats for individuals seeking soulful creativity.
