Words of Your Life
I created a fun writing exercise a few years ago and recently revisited it. You might enjoy it too. I call it “Words of Life.” It is a deep dive into life with a list of touch points.
Want to give it a try? Grab your computer, phone, journal, or wherever you like to make your everyday lists. For this writing journey, find a quiet spot and reflect on people, places, dreams, your favorite movies, books, music...whatever you like. Write them down.
Sometimes I walk around my house or in the garden; you really pay attention in those quiet moments.
No order is necessary. Perfect punctuation is not required.
Just write…plain and simple.
Take your time, start it, put it away, and then return to it.
I promise word after word will flow when you least expect it.
I started with a list of my favorite things; then, it shaped into another list. When I read my list today, I see a snapshot of time playing back in my mind. It is a writing exercise that is good for the soul.
